Afrikaans:
While black cultures in Africa were still referring to themselves by their tribal names, the white Europeans (mainly from the Netherlands, France and Germany) who emigrated to southern Africa in the 17th and 18th century called themselves after the continent in which they chose to settle, becoming the first to be called "Africans". They are still referred to as Africans in their native language: "Afrikaners" - and in English, simply "South Africans."

Afrikaans is the youngest language in the world, spoken by some 40 million people. A beautiful, creative language, it has its own dictionaries and a vibrant artistic development.

This cabaret is in Afrikaans.
